Yup, folks…
The Crossroads has undergone a makeover.
I just decided that I would try something new to celebrate Spring, and this just reminded me of the season better than any other theme I could find – the flowers, the colors, the whole mood…
Spring has arrived here in Southern Indiana, and I’m enjoying it. Now that the weather is warmer, I can get out more… and I’m already planning a few excursions, which I hope to write about in this blog. I’ve got one coming up later this month that should be interesting.
I got my hands dirty earlier today planting some herbs in pots to display on the windowsill outside of my apartment. That’s the nice thing about herbs – they don’t mind growing in pots… in fact, they seem to thrive in such. Here’s a picture:
I know I will be adding to these with even more varieties, and I am hoping to also grow a tomato plant or two – there’s nothing like biting into a juicy homegrown tomato fresh off the vine.
In any case, I just thought the greens and the browns made me think of the brown earth and the green plants, and the blue is the bright sky and the color of the robin’s eggs soon be hatched in the nest that a pair of redbreasts are currently busy constructing in the tree next to my building.
What do you think?
Update: The people have spoken and much like the old Coca-Cola snafu, they wanted the original back. And I had to agree… I liked the original better myself. See my post at

Looks nice… although I am not sure about this site’s makeover. Do you plan to change the colors as we go through the seasons?
Hi Karen ~
That was my thought (to change the colors and/or themes as we go through the different seasons), but I’m not sure I like the idea. I’m thinking of going back to my old theme and just using customized headers to show my different thoughts on the changes going on around me, celebrating the Sabbats, etc. With this theme, I can’t create a custom header. Soooooo…..
~ Ocean
Go back to your old theme and use the custom headers I’m thinking. This one is just a little too plain for your personality which is bright and energetic.
There are so many styles, colors, designs that you can change them up often. I think you ought to go with whatever strikes your fancy. I like this one because the type-size is readable. Uh-oh, letting my inner geezer show again!
Me like the other way better, I think the bright and vibrant colors were more like you…
love your herbs i got some bazil and straberries going, the changes to your blog, welll it looks like a comic strip, color all i see is jhondeer green. but hey if its easer for you to deal with goe for it bb
I like the other one better, only because you could personalize it more to your liking, and add the Ocean touch x)
I have to agree with the majority, I liked the old site better mainly for the color. But you could add more variety to it if you wanted.
Hmmm…gonna have to keep coming back before I know for sure one way or the other. I like this one, just haven’t been in a this or that mind set lately. The quality is always excellent!
