Rose and Berry Wine
Ingredients:
two or three handfuls of rose petals
3 bottles of white wine
1 cup of red wine
2 pints of fresh berries; use blueberries, blackberries, strawberries
1 cup of sugar
Collect the flowers that are partly open and separate the petals. Gather only from plants that are away from roads and make sure they haven’t had any herbicides or other chemicals sprayed on or nearby them.
Rinse the flowers, add them to the white wine, and heat on low flame until the petals are soft and almost transparent. Allow to cool, then remove the petals and refrigerate.
Bring to boil the red wine, berries, and sugar, and simmer until all berries are soft (about 10 min). Pass through a sieve while still warm to remove all seeds and skins and then allow to cool. Mix both wines, sterilize your storage bottles, then bottle the wine and refrigerate.
Allow wine to sit for at least 2 days before drinking, served chilled or warm and enjoy!
