Every once in a while I come across a post that really speaks to the heart and soul of what I think and feel…
as a Woman
as a Deaf person
as a Pagan
as a living, breathing human being dealing with living, breathing issues.
I came across such a post today. It was written by a friend of mine named Allison Kaftan. I have yet to meet her personally…but we have exchanged numerous emails, conversed in a chat room, and shared thoughts on various issues.
I first met her over at DeafDC.com, where she blogs on a fairly regular basis. She also has her own blog site, where she’s known as Queen Alpo – you can find the links to both sites on my sidebar menu under Deaf Blogs.
She’s written a beautiful, honest, poignant post sharing with us some of her innermost thoughts.
You can read it for yourself… and I hope you will take the time to do so – it’s well worth it.

I wish I had the ovaries to write something like this myself.
Thanks, Alli.
Your title for this post is a hoot!
Not to mention that it certainly does describe you.
And to Allison, your post is indeed beautiful, honest, and poignant.
I don’t think you should have any problems seeking the Goddess…
She needs more women like you.
I enjoyed reading Allison’s post… Her writing is so full of emotion and she uses words to paint her feelings. Beautiful!
Bravo Alli! Continue being who you are…we all need to do more of that! At an early age I realized that I do what I do because it’s what I’m supposed to do. No harm, no foul…I proved doctors, my parents, guidance counselors ALL wrong…why?…because I could, because it’s what I do and who I am and I know no different way to exist!
Blessed Be,
Kimber
Good stuff (speaking as an uppity weirdo who hates pink).
That was an amazing, powerful poignant post.
