Thank you for sharing your thoughts. In response, I would like to share the following thoughts of my own:

1.) The comment had no relevance to the blog post itself other than that the person obviously saw this blog - probably while googling witch spells - and chose to leave such a comment here.

2.) There is nothing in the comment that indicates the individual is in fact "new to the path" or even has any interest in learning anything about Paganism.

3.) Based upon the internet address, I suspect that this is the same individual who has been posting such requests at a number of sites, and has in fact made such a request here at the Crossroads in the past, which was ignored.

4.) This was not a request to learn more about spellcasting. This person basically was demanding that I send him spells...and did not even have the courtesy of saying please. I feel no obligation to respond in a "kind" manner.

5.) I am of the school of thought that Paganism is not all about "love and light" and that Pagans recognize that spirituality isn't always about feeling good. There is a dark side to the Craft also, and a harsh reality to it that must be accepted and respected.

6.) The purpose of Deaf Pagan Crossroads is to share my thoughts and perspectives pertaining to the merger of my identity as a Deaf person and my spirituality as a Pagan. This is not a teaching community. Yes, if someone comes here in a respectful manner and politely asks a question which merits a polite answer, I am happy to provide such. But I won't and don't cater to fools making inappropriate demands. Such persons will be dealt with accordingly. And no...it won't always be pretty.

Thank you.

I agree with you that such requests are not appropiate, but someone new to this path may not know this. I found your response harsh and you lost an opportunity
to explain in a way that taught something and was kind.

Deaf Pagan Crossroads is NOT "Spells-R-Us." I find such requests as this one to be extremely offensive and inappropriate. In addition, a reputable witch worth her salt would NEVER give a stranger a spell over the internet. And only an idiot would ask in the first place.
