I have done this personally - with Ocean's guidance. It was a wonderful lesson in recognizing and facing my fears. (not just the fear of the arrow, but the fears that hold us back in all areas of our lives)

The other thing I took away from this was: "If I can do this... what is there in life that I cannot accomplish?"

But please, do heed the warnings and do not attempt this without someone who is trained to help you with it. Otherwise, it could be very dangerous.

Thanks, Osh! Love ya!

To clarify...

There is NO shooting of arrows involved in this exercise.

It might look in the picture as if an arrow is flying thru the air aimed at Crystal's neck, but that is not the case. The feathered end of the arrow is actually resting against the tree trunk, and Crystal is in the process of pressing up against the arrow point at her throat, in order to snap the arrow in two.

Again, there is NO SHOOTING involved. The individual takes the arrow in his/her hand, places it against a solid surface, leans against the point, and then walks forward until the pressure breaks the arrow.

There's no bloodshed. There's minimal pain. It looks a lot worse than it actually is. In fact, the biggest danger comes AFTER you've broken the arrow, when you have to watch for the broken pieces flying.

Nobody has injured themselves in doing this exercise, and I have taught it to plenty of people over the years...
