   I suspect he was hoping to get a slice of my Buttermilk Nut Pie, which does have pecans in it…along with walnuts – you can find the recipe for such here at the Crossroads under the Food category.

   I guess my pie is becoming famous in the squirrel community, judging from the pics of all the begging squirrels who come running whenever I mention “pie” in one of my posts… especially if it has nuts in it!

   Thanks for pointing me to this prayer, Julie.

   I agree, it’s a really cool prayer that focuses on what we should really be thankful for – Mother Nature and all her creatures.

   I encourage everyone to go check out this prayer… it is still meaningful, even though Thanksgiving is over.

   Here is my interpretation of Jehanne’s prayer – I don’t know if she is Pagan, but I don’t think she would mind my giving it a bit of a “Goddess Spirituality” slant to it…

   “She creates the world…how awesome!
   I see birds flying in the distance and I am inspired…
   Thank you, Precious Mother.
   Fish swimming in the water…thank you.
   Deer running in the wind
   Squirrels climbing up the trees
   Rabbits hopping on the ground
   Thank you for all the creatures.
   Keep them there and safe…
   And not on our dinner table.”
