Some time ago I contacted my “phriendly photographer” Robin to see if she had any good pictures to share. Having checked out both of her blogs recently, I could clearly see that she was taking advantage of the recent beautiful weather in Pennsylvania to take a number of photographs – many of which were taken at Longwood Gardens. For those who are not familiar with this place, Longwood Gardens is one of the premier botanical gardens in the United States, located in Kennett Square in the Brandywine Valley area of Pennsylvania. It’s thirty miles southwest of Philadelphia, and about a two-hour drive from the Washington DC area, so if you get the chance I encourage you to go visit, as it’s a truly beautiful place with over a thousand acres of gardens, woodlands, and meadows.
Robin shared with me a number of beautiful pictures that she had taken at the gardens, and they proved to be a welcomed respite from all the words I have been reading and typing over the past few weeks. As the saying goes:
When the world wearies and ceases to satisfy, there’s always the garden!
I don’t know about you, dear reader… but lately it does seem to me as if the world has indeed become unsatisfying. I feel that sense of weariness, a frustration with life, a longing to somehow lay down my burdens and rest… to find peace of mind and rejuvenation of the soul.
But when I look at these pictures, I am reminded that Mother Nature can indeed be our best healer.
I think I need to find me a garden.

To see more of Robin’s gorgeous photography
and get a further dose of Mother Nature’s healing powers,
I encourage you to check out her blog sites at

This sculpture shows the sign for "connect"...and that is what Deaf Pagan Crossroads is all about - making connections. Connections between Deafhood and Paganism, connections between the Deaf Community and the Hearing Community, connections between myself as the writer and you as the reader. I hope you will take the time to read my various posts, some of which are listed below. Welcome to the Crossroads, and I hope you make some connections here!

I love being in my garden. It is so relaxing… and these photos are gorgeous!
Gorgeous photos, especially the first one with the leaves.
Definitely gorgeous! I love the 2nd and the last pictures!
I agree – Robin’s pictures are gorgeous. If you haven’t checked out “Bountiful Healing” I encourage you to do so… her usage of photography along with gentle words of wisdom taken from various sources can indeed be quite soothing and healing.
“Life in the Bogs” is more of a personal journal, but it also includes much of her photography as well.
Robin, you should definitely think about creating a calendar of your photography, or a datebook (I tend to use those more than calendars, myself). I think you would get some considerable interest both from your own readers, and from here at the Crossroads!
BEAUTIFUL PICTURES………….
Ocean, I am sorry that you are feeling so frustrated with life. I wonder if there is a way to take away the pains of life.

Thanks, Osh. I’ve thought about a calendar or a book of some sort because I’ve gotten a lot of requests for it, but wouldn’t know where to start in terms of publishing. If you have any ideas, I’d be glad to hear them. All advice is appreciated.
And a big thank you to all of you who are enjoying the photos.
I’ve noticed a change in energy lately, too. A restlessness. Perhaps it’s all part of the growth process of spring.
Human,
I stopped by the website showcasing your father’s photography. Beautiful!! I could spend days there looking around.
In fact, I probably will.
that was beautiful, the tree with the white flowers with the blue sky and white fluffy clouds, bring back a memory. when i was a child i climbed such a tree as i climbed the tree i looked up and saw the blue sky and clouds, but i could sense a presence a gentle voice telling me to get down dont go any higher it was like being warned of a danger and left me with quite an impression, the picture reminded me of that day
I believe birch is referring to this picture over at Bountiful Healing:

I agree – it’s a beautiful picture of a beautiful tree.
WOW! I am using the tower picture as my desktop background. Awesome!!
That is why I always be a pround Pennsylvanian, even though I am living in Maryland since my graduation from Gallaudet University. The pictures look great and I feel like I could smell the flowers right from the screen. : ) – Ron -
