Personally I use big P for contemporary Pagans (who self-identify as Pagan) and small p for ancient pagans (who were labelled pagan by the Christians, and had no need to label themselves until people came along and wanted to make a distinction between different religions.

That's certainly one way to look at it, Birch...and to a certain extent, I do agree with you.

However, I do wish to clarify to the readers of this blog - I DO NOT necessarily agree with the definitions of paganism/Paganism as stated in this fact sheet.

This doesn't mean I think they are wrong. Some of the things they say I do agree with. But other statements they make I don't agree with.

That's okay. They are stating their view, and I respect that. I just happen to have different viewpoints.

It's all good. It's all Paganism. It's all part of the Path.

My main purpose for posting these definitions was to utilize them as a demonstration of that whole struggle of capitalization which seems to be an issue not only in the D/deaf community, but the P/pagan community as well.

all righty then, not until i joined WS who bounces back and fourth as to weather they are wiccan or pagan did i realize there was a difference. so paganism reserves the right of the individule to incorporate different parts of other religions to form a new religion suited to individual needs. whereas wicca or wiccan religions insist on tradition and a set way of doing things also tend to be a bit more rigid in their teachings ok i get it thats why the bouncing back and fourth paganism is flexable
